Artist Statement
My name is Omofaderera Wahab and I am a mixed media artist born in Lagos, Nigeria and based in England. The core aspects of my works vary based on each work, but often allude to themes surrounding visual storytelling, the intangible human essence, my relationship with Jesus, and my day-to-day life.
I work with various media, including, but not limited to, Adire (traditional Yoruba tie-dye), acrylic and oil paint, photography, handmade and storebought inks, vintage pottery, and natural stone beads.
Presently, I am working on larger scale artworks and playing around with new ways of using materials that I am already familiar with to produce new outcomes.
